Jim Has Been 'Expert Of The Week!'
About Jim's Work:
How/Why did you choose your particular field?
I was relatively fit when I was in my teens and twenties, but I didn't exercise and eat right on a consistent basis. I began to get more serious about my fitness and health when I was in my early thirties. I gradually started educating myself on exercise and nutrition and applying what I learned. Exercise and healthy eating had become essential parts of my life by the time I was in my early forties, as I experienced firsthand the tremendous power of exercise and healthy eating to slow down the aging process and improve overall quality of life. Now, at 53 years old, I'm in the best shape of my life thanks to exercise and healthy eating.
I decided to create a heath and fitness website in 2007 so I could help others experience the same benefits from exercise and healthy eating that I've experienced.
Was there someone (in particular) who inspired you into it?
There was no one in particular who inspired me to get more involved in health and fitness. What inspired and motivated me, and what keeps inspiring and motivating me to this day, was experiencing how much better I looked and felt as I became more fit and healthy. Life is so much more enjoyable when you're fit and healthy.
What is your 'Grand Vision' for your work, and where will it lead you?
My grand vision is to use my website to help as many people as possible get fitter and healthier. I hope this will lead me to become a trusted resource for people looking to improve their health and fitness.
Tell us a bit more about your website and your vision for its future?
So much information about exercise and nutrition is confusing and conflicting, and the amount of hype in the health and fitness industry is almost overwhelming. My website can help simplify things for people since it provides plenty of factual, well-researched, no-hype information on a variety of health and fitness topics. My future plans are to continue to grow and improve the website.
What advice would you give an aspiring Holistic Practitioner?
If you want to improve your health and fitness, don't wait until tomorrow. Or next week. Or next month. Take action today. Even if you start with baby steps, before you know it you will be living a healthier and more enjoyable life.
About Jim The Person:
What makes you laugh?
Perceptive, sarcastic, funny people. Reliving fun past experiences.
What makes you sad?
Thinking about family members and friends who have passed away. Reading about good people who are struggling or have experienced tragic events.
What do you like to do when you aren't working?
I like to work out (I work out three or four time a week), get together with family and friends, and travel (even though I haven't had the time to do much in the last couple of years).
Tell us some more about YOU?
I enjoy the simple things in life. Hanging out with family and friends, spending a day at the beach, enjoying a casual dinner at a favorite restaurant. I try to live in the moment as much as possible and enjoy the journey of life more than focusing so much on where I want to end up.
