Michelle Has Been 'Expert Of The Week!'
About Michelle's Work:
How/Why did you choose your particular field?
My husband I had a desire to be in business for ourselves so that we wouldn't have to depend on someone else's company to earn our living for the rest of our lives.
I chose to focus on providing natural solutions to stress and pain because these are some of the biggest problems facing humankind. Many people turn towards pharmaceutical drugs to help them. It is my goal to educate people to safer methods for obtaining relief from stress and pain.
Was there someone (in particular) who inspired you into it?
My son Christopher was my biggest inspiration for focusing on natural health alternatives. He was born with cerebral palsy and epilepsy. I've been through many ups and downs and have had to learn that natural is always better, especially when caring for him.
I know that if I can be successful managing the challenging situations I've encountered, others can be as well. That's why I am constantly writing articles and blogging - so I can educate, inspire and share solutions with others.
What is your 'Grand Vision' for your work, and where will it lead you?
I'm not exactly sure where my work will lead. Only the Lord knows that. What I do know is what has been placed in my heart and that is to help as many people as possible by offering safer, alternative solutions to health issues.
It is my vision to some day write for publications within my niche and appear on special programs to share my stories...no, reflections of my challenges and my triumphs.
Tell us a bit more about your website and your vision for its future?
My website, www.stressreliefbyrv.com offers a unique blend of products and information to holistically address stress and pain. It is my belief that you can not address one without addressing the other. The two work simultaneously, wreaking havoc in people's lives. Therefore, my site offers products such as aromatherapy to promote relaxation, products such as magnetic therapy to help ease physical pain and a library of informative articles to help people see life's challenges from a different perspective, often times addressing spiritual issues.
What advice would you give an aspiring Holistic Practitioner?
If you were to give an aspiring Holistic Practitioner one piece of ˜advice,™ what would it be?
I would advise to remember that there is no "magic bullet" when it comes to health care. When helping people, it's important to be aware that many physical ailments are the result of deeper issues. If you sense something deeper is going on, in order to truly help them it may be necessary to get others involved (ex: pastor, psychologist)
About Michelle The Person:
What makes you laugh?
I am naturally cheerful but the things that really make me laugh (almost to tears) are comedies. Silly children and animals also make me laugh. They can be hilarious. For example, my son makes the funniest faces when a song he likes comes on the radio and he starts clapping to his own special beat!
What makes you sad?
I would have to say that it would be the injustices I see taking place in the world, like the people in poverty stricken areas/nations not having enough food or clean water. I am also sad when I hear of tragedies such as what happened recently in NY. A woman was driving "high" on the wrong side of the highway and killed herself, all the kids in the car and people in another car. This not only makes me sad. It makes me mad. Mad that the devil is stealing people's lives and mad that people can do such foolish things to put him in a position to do so.
What do you like to do when you aren't working?
You mean that one hour a week when I get to actually breathe? :-)
In my spare time, I enjoy reading, going to the movies and just hanging out with my husband and kids. My daughter and I are especially close and time spent with her just shopping, going out to eat and to see movies (when the budget permits) is just priceless.
