Male age spots often occur in what might seem like unusual places. For example, men that are bald tend to have them on the tops of their heads. The hair that would normally provide protection is gone. So, the skin is more easily damaged.

If you understand what causes an age spot, their appearance is easier to understand. The spot is a result of accumulated sun damage. It could appear on any area that has been burned by the sun.

Wearing a hat and sunglasses is not merely a fashion statement. Those articles of clothing provide protection from the sun.

When they are young, most people feel that nothing can hurt them. When they get older, they often regret some of the things that they did during their youth.

There is reason to regret overexposure to the sun. It plays a role in skin cancer. But, the overexposure that causes male age spots, there may be no need to regret. The damage can be repaired.

The outer layer of skin sloughs off and is replaced thousands of times throughout a person’s lifespan. Thousands of cells are sloughed off everyday. They are a major component of house dust.

We don’t have to think about this process. It just happens. But, we can and should support the process, because it slows down as we get older. How can you do that?

The most effective approach is two pronged. First, you eat lots of fruits and vegetables because of the antioxidants they contain. If you are a meat and potatoes guy, you are going to look older than your vegetarian friends.

The second prong is the use of antioxidant rich creams. Antioxidants are one of the body’s natural defenses against sun damage. Recent studies have shown that some potent antioxidants can repair damage that has already occurred, which means they can fade male age spots.

Most men’s moisturizers are nothing special. But, the latest men’s anti aging creams contain compounds that have been evaluated by scientific researchers. They will reverse wrinkles, soften roughness, improve moisture content and even out pigmentation.

You will, no doubt, see a variety of different age spot creams on the market. If you read the label, you will see all kinds of warnings. The solutions work temporarily, if at all, and they can actually cause increased pigmentation. In other words, they can make the spot darker.

The latest anti aging creams will safely lighten male age spots. There are no warning labels of any kind, because the ingredients are completely safe. You might say that they are safe enough to eat.

Antioxidants seem to be the keys to our survival. Studies concerning the health benefits of different antioxidants continue to be released. Increasing our antioxidant intake may help us avoid age related diseases of all kinds.

Applying those antioxidants directly may help us look younger and fade male age spots, too. So, basically, we can be healthier, live longer and look good, at the same time. One of the antioxidants to look for is coenzyme Q10, but there are others. Take a few moments to learn more about them.
