What would you think if I were to tell you that your greatest asset can also, at times, be your greatest liability? You might tell me to start making sense and explain - so I will.
I have learnt through experience that there is a single determinant which is responsible for people's success or failure in any element of life. What is that? Very simply it is your mindset. Your mindset is how you view and respond to life.
To explain a bit clearer, two people of similar intelligence and circumstances can be given the same tools and resources and asked to deal with the same situation. One of these will use everything they have to the best of their ability and have a wonderful outcome whilst the other will only see the bumps, problems, issues and half-heartedly create a mediocre solution or give up altogether. Why? One has a strong mindset and the other does not.
So how does one have a great mindset? Again the answer is simple, decide to have one. It begins with a simple decision to have one and to continually be aware of having a strong mindset. Yes challenges will arise as you go, as life happens. However you decide how these challenges affect you by how you react to them. It is always a good idea to take some time to reflect on the challenge before reacting. Sometimes when we take an immediate knee-jerk reaction, we make a hasty decision and one we regret later. I'm all for going with your gut but taking a small chunk of time to reflect and digest the situation always pays off long term.
I was working on my business venture for months with varying degrees of success. However it was not until I developed a strong mindset did I become unstoppable and even when faced with some of thee most difficult circumstances I had ever faced personally, my business thrived.
So decide today that you are going to have a strong unstoppable mindset that will help you create the lifestyle you want for your family. Go for it!
Become aware this week of what kind of mindset you have - awareness is key to a strong mindset. Remember it can have good days and not so good days - so don't be too hard on yourself. An essential thing to remember is that it can always be changed, just decide to change it.
