Article Summary One of the quickest and most effective ways to gain back part of our health is through the use of essential oils.
On the path towards health there are so many different things to learn that it can become overwhelming to take it all in. Health has so many variables to it and they all take time. Lasting health doesn't generally have any quick fixes. That said, one of the quickest and most effective ways to gain back part of our health is through the use of essential oils. They can replace many over the counter medications and in some cases even pharmaceuticals. But what are these oils and what makes them able to do what they do?

Essential oils are distilled from plants, usually through steam. They are most often applied topically, but when pure can be used internally as well. They absorb into the skin quickly and can penetrate the blood stream within about 30 seconds. They can relieve physical as well as emotional ailments and have been used by many cultures around the world for thousands of years. Within mummy's tombs archaeologists often find essential oils. These essential oils still work, because of their purity -- talk about shelf life! However, if the oils are not pure they can become dangerous and release toxins into the body.

Many oils are sold as 100% Pure Therapeutic Grade, but they can still contain pesticide residue and synthetic material. These items are not safe for the body and cause the oils to be less effective. They also cannot be taken internally if they are not pure enough. Most oil products found in health food stores these days meet the therapeutic grade test, but it's best to use them only externally to avoid issues.

A new grade of oils has recently emerged called Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade. The CPTG stamp requires extensive 3rd party validation to achieve, including two different tests. Every batch is tested to ensure that there is nothing impure, including pesticides, but also to verifies that the compounds of the oils are correct. The different plants need to be grown, harvested, and distilled in the right environment for the oils to work properly.

Many oils can easily replace all of the drugs in your medicine cabinet. People use them to help battle depression, high blood pressure, anxiety, headaches, burns, and a host of other problem that would other wise lead to the use of pharmaceuticals and their bothersome side effects. Once you get into using the oils you won't turn back.
