The paragraph in quotations was sent to me by one of my readers. Here’s how I responded.
The thing to remember about Law of Attraction is that it’s not an “esoteric philosophy.” It’s a spiritualistic term for how everything in existence works, what we call quantum mechanics.
I think what stymies many of us is we approach LOA from a “Which came first, the chicken or the egg?” mindset. It’s always at work; you don’t engage LOA, you engage yourself. This is what LOA responds to.
The key to LOA is to understand there are two layers operating simultaneously. The layer we’re most aware of is that our external experiences match our internal thought/energy vibrations that create patterns in the quantum field, which we then experience as events. The layer we’re less aware of is that we literally program everything we experience from the infinite aspect of who we are: Infinite Consciousness. We, as infinite beings having an experience, deliberately imprint patterns into the full-immersion holographic experience we call “reality,” including our awareness of and use of LOA. Our egos don’t like to hear this, and our resistance to it creates our conflicts and contrasts. But acceptance of this is where our true power resides.
One thing we can do to make this easier on ourselves as we try to comprehend its enormity (and struggle with accepting this Truth), is to acknowledge that it’s a mystery – a BIG one; and though we may gain insights to it as we open our awareness more and more, we’ll never fully grasp it while we’re in our holographic experience. Nor, are we meant to; though we are meant to expand our awareness and understanding of it.
It isn’t about sticking to it. It is about reminding yourself to pay attention to your thoughts and, most imperatively, your feelings. The quantum field/LOA responds to feelings, which can be disconcerting to us since we’re programmed to value thoughts above feelings. Yet, we expand and manage our feelings (our energetic vibrations) through our thoughts; and we are adept at negative thinking and feeling!
Also, relax about “falling off the train.” It’s like any habit we attempt to change: It takes time and willingness to keep going. You’re replacing what you learned with more conscious choices. The old patterns are “comfortable,” even when painful. They are familiar. It also takes wanting the outcome – the ultimate treasure – more than falling back on old thought and behavior patterns. Allow that your process and progress are part of the bigger picture of what you’re here to do as an infinite being exploring experiences.
Another thing about LOA teachings is we’re misled to believe we are supposed to work it to change outer experiences. This really sets us up for conflict and self-judgment, and judgment about our experiences. There is a difference between not liking something and judging it. It also negates trust that our infinite self knows what it’s doing.
The simple, but not necessarily easy way to be effective is to shift and manage your vibrations, no matter what, to find a way to appreciate the mystery and that you’re conscious of it. It’s never about the outer experience; it’s always about the inner one. When we grasp that this life experience is ultimately about the dynamics of remembering our true power as infinite beings (and embracing, using, and appreciating it), many of the outer experiences begin to shift, because of our inner shift. However, it’s never going to be about elimination of contrasts and challenges. Believing it is leads to inner struggle and suffering.
The next time you feel sidetracked, just remind yourself it’s understandable to fall back on learned patterns. Then choose one that puts you back on the path. It’s also highly beneficial to open to and expand your partnership with your infinite self.
The day after I wrote this response, I received the link to a brief video by Abraham (Esther Hicks) that supported my comments simply and beautifully. It was as though I, too, received an affirmation. If you’d like the link, email me and I’ll happily share it with you.
One statement I use to easily help me shift is, “I am grateful I am an Infinite Being, and that I have conscious awareness of this.” More importantly, though, is that I allow myself to feel this as much as my limited imagination can fathom. You may not perceive the fullness of who you really are, but if you open to it as a fact or imagine it as a possibility, you invite more of your personal, infinite power into your life and, ultimately, how you experience your life.
