An exercise for manifesting what you want

Author of Reality Creation 101, Chris Pinckley hints at something very interesting in his book.
"If you want to see the power of dreaming," writes Pinckley. "Just look around you. Almost everything you see is a manifestation of a dream someone had."

What does this mean?
Every store, Café, home, flashy car, motorcycle, maintained garden, painting, TV program, magazine, website, song on the radio, book or business advertisement you come across is the result of a dream. The things we see around us are manifestations of dreams someone had, cherished, worked for and then realised.
All around us, there is the beautiful evidence of people's dreams coming true - just take a minute and look around.

From this realisation, it's just a short trip to relate the knowledge that dreams come true for other people to your own life.

And that is exactly the key of this exercise.

1) Begin where you are - in the street, at home or at work. Take a look around you and try to identify all the things that are likely the product of someone's dream. Project yourself into their reality. What must they have done, thought and gone through to realise their project? Probably about half the things you see are the products of another person's heartfelt desire. Does the world around you look any different?

2) Now think of what your own dreams might be. Picture yourself in the scenario that represents the culmination of your heart's desire. Perhaps you'd like a happy, close and sharing relationship. Maybe you dream of owning a Café in a particular part of the town. The important part in this phase is not to judge or question whether these things are possible. You need to just see yourself in the position you'd like to occupy. Don't hesitate to embelish with details. For example, see yourself enjoying a nice dinner with your future partner, or driving down a country road to your new home.

3) Lastly, finish off the exercise by being thankful for everything you already possess. If you're healthy, energetic or happy in your home, thank the universe for giving you these things. Perhaps you're lucky to have great friends or a family that supports and loves you. Maybe you're lucky enough to have a job that keeps you interested. It doesn't matter how small, you surely have things to be thankful for. Make a mental act of feeling grateful.

After carrying out this exercise, you can just go back about your business.

The theory of manifestation holds that by asking the universe for what you desire, you are taking a huge step towards realising your dreams. You don't have to believe that the things you concentrate on are magnetically drawn to you - although this is what the theory of manifestation holds. The more skeptical can relate this technique of seeing other people's dreams to techniques of visualisation used by elite athletes. Sports research indicates that visualisation of a particular goal or performance formats your mindset to allow you to act in the best way possible for attaining a specific goal.
