Law of Attraction or Positive Mental Attitude: Which Way to Go?
We may all be searching for the meaning in life, but if we really want to affect change there's a choice to be made. Do we become a subservient vassal of the universe or the proactive protagonist of our own life?
The importance of this choice is clear. The repercussions of the way we choose to go will affect our whole life.
Despite a decline in church attendance, more and more people are turning to mystic powers to solve their problems. The reason for this? We all want a quick solution; something simple and pain-free. Whilst we want to achieve a positive effect and reap the benefits of change, we aren't prepared to pay the price: in effort or time. We want it easy and we want it now.
This desire leads us to buy into all sorts of things that promise to change our life with little effort on our part: magic, feng shui, talismans, crystals etc. Although there's nothing wrong in believing any of these things will work, the problem is when we rely on them
alone.
The Secret tapped into this need for a quick-fix. It created a potent message in which God and the universe are inextricably linked. But isn't using The Secret's Law of Attraction the same as prayers to God asking him to sort out our problem
for us rather than asking for the strength and wisdom to find our own solutions; or seeing a therapist expecting him/her to
give us the answers rather that us finding them for our self?
We wish for what we want and the universe gives it to us? It's all so
passive, too
easy. No Pain - All Gain. Doesn't it smack a little of the miracle pill that will make us lose weight without trying, or the travelling peddler's magical elixir?
The appeal of Law of Attraction is clear: wish for something hard enough and you'll get it. But what we you do while we're waiting for it to arrive?
While relying on any kind of mysticism may make us feel good, it's unlikely to affect change if that is all we do. Rather than relying on LOA alone, what we need is a Positive Mental Attitude and to take some action.
When we're positive in our outlook, not only do we attract people into our life with our positivity, we are more open to and able to
see opportunities when they arise. A PMA helps us to think outside the box as we're more open to possibilities and a belief that things
can (and will) work out.
So, if we want a positive change in our life, be it better help, friends, love and yes, even money, we have to take
positive action to affect change and that mean doing more than wishing for it to happen.
We can't just sit back and (no matter how fervently we wish for it) expect whatever we want to miraculously arrive at out doorstep. In Life, we get out what we put in.
