Staying the course is essential, even when you're well. So often, it is only when malady strikes, whether it's physical, emotional, spiritual or financial, that we dig deeper into ourselves to find solutions, practice them, and then, once the crisis is over, we go back to our "old" modus operandi, forgetting all about the lessons learned and why we dug in the first place. It's something I've done too. And I really believe it's to our detriment.
When something happens to rock your world, let's say...you get terribly ill. You may have been the picture of health and never imagined it could "happen to you". But one day you wake up and find something is horribly wrong. You may go the 'normal' route first, just because your HMO says you have to. So you go to some doctor you'd rather not see, ask for your referral to the one you DO want to see, and then set out to "fix" whatever it is that needs fixing.
Maybe you discover that even your usual holistic practitioner is stumped. Or nothing you do is working. Things are getting worse. What now?
It is precisely these moments when we find our truest connection to the powers available to us. And it really doesn't matter what you 'stumble' upon. If you are willing to open up to it, you'll always discover it. It may be an ancient Chinese practice, or a simple meditation, or merely creating quiet space to BE. Regardless of "what" it is, it will change you. It will heal you. It will inspire you to another level of Being. It is the holiest of experiences and not to be underestimated.
So why do we let it go? Why do we, once we've recovered from our crisis, let go of this awesome gift we've discovered in ourselves, in the Universe?
I wonder about these things now, as I witness yet another person doing just that. It makes me sad to know that she has dismissed this great treasure. So I write this here, to remind YOU:
Once you find that magickal, marvelous gift, NEVER let it go. Make it a part of you, ALWAYS. Cherish it. Love it. BE it.
Please.
