While the American health system slides further into the abyss, more and more people are complaining of more and more ailments. Small wonder, when you consider that the majority of dis-ease is a direct result of stress. Thousands of studies have been (and continue to be) done on the relationship between stress and dis-ease. I've always known this, more as an intuitive kind of knowing, rather than from a place of scientific proof. It doesn't matter, though, what I "know" or can prove. What matters is how I've used that knowledge to maintain and/or return to wellness when maladies arose.
I've long believed that we're simply not wired to 'multitask'. It's not because we don't have the brain power, it's because we weren't meant to think about 50 things at once. Fact is, we can't. We can only focus on one thought at a time. Again, it's how we're wired. So, while I spent many years serving the public (in the restaurant business) and was VERY good at what I did, I always knew it was more about being organized than about trying to 'think' my way through many tasks at once.
Now, here we are, with more and more Americans reaching for the bottles in their medicine cabinets, instead of looking at the source of their maladies. It's so easy to get them too. Just dial up your nearest MD, tell him you can't sleep, or your leg is twitching constantly or your stomach feels like Mt. Etna or whatever else you can think up, and he'll happily hand over a scrip for the newest and "most effective" drug to cover up your nasty symptoms.
Oh yea. That's a good way to do it.
The truth is, you don't have to take drugs to relieve your "whatever-it-is". There are many, many people who have successfully returned to wellness WITHOUT the use of drugs. Even the most severe cases of cancer have been 'cured' with meditation, diet changes, and visualization. In short, these people used their MINDS to rid their bodies of whatever was amiss, returning to wellness by sheer belief and consistent practice.
It could be as simple as daily meditation along with several 'sessions' of sitting quietly and "seeing" yourself well. Some people even go so far as to eliminate all animal products from their diets, going on full organic vegan diets. Others choose to eat completely raw foods. And then there are those who simply decide to put healthy food into their bodies (and skip all the fast food crap), drink plenty of water and laugh their way to wellness. All or any of the above have worked, for various people, for many years.
It doesn't really take much time to find what's right for you. You can spend a few days, or a few weeks or even a few months researching. OR, you can just make up your mind that you're going to eliminate all thoughts of dis-ease, give yourself the loving kindness you afford everyone else in your life, and find ways to laugh...a LOT. Or you can garden. Or go for long walks. Or sleep more. You can find what resonates with you, if you will take the time to look.
There is no reason for any of us to be in pain or to suffer through agonizing ailments. We have all we need to 'cure' ourselves. It's right there...INSIDE. If you will even just consider this to be 'true', you may find you'll be feeling better in a matter of minutes.
